Report: UK buys Russian oil under other countries’ names
MOSCOW, Nov 21 (PRIME) -- The U.K. continues to buy Russian oil with documents naming other countries as importers, the Sunday Times reported on November 20.
At least 39 tankers with Russian oil worth more than 200 million British pounds arrived in U.K. ports since February, although they “were classified as imports from other countries,” the newspaper reported.
According to the newspaper, in total Russian oil worth 778 million British pounds has arrived at ten British ports since March.
Russia imported to the U.K. oil for more than 78 million British pounds in June, although the National Statistics Service (ONS) reported that the country did not import oil from Russia. Officially imported oil in June is listed as imported from the Netherlands, Estonia, Poland or Belgium.
